NEW DELHI: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal was caught amid raging protest at the New Delhi Railway station early Thursday morning. Kejriwal, who was leaving for Punjab, was reprimanded at the station by Bharatiya Janata Party’s women wing which demanded a response from Kejriwal for the recent controversies his party has been mired in.The wing demanded him to speak on the misconduct of his MLAs against women and were seeking expulsion of Ashutosh from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
“We came here to talk to him very politely, along with a bouquet. Is he a thief that he is running and not facing us? We are women from educated families and came here for a solution,” said an agitated protester.
Kejriwal began his four-day Punjab tour with an itinerary focused mostly on the state’s Malwa region. The tour comes at a time when the party is trying to keep its flock together amid various issues that have plagued it in recent weeks.
On Wednesday, a group of volunteers from Barnala accused the AAP Punjab observer Vijay Chauhan, of allegedly sexually exploiting his maid servant and later giving her Rs 1 lakh to keep the matter under wraps. However, Chauhan has denied the allegations.
This is not all. AAP leader Ashutosh has been in the thick of controversies after he defended the sacked minister Sandeep Kumar in a blog post.
